Oak Bay Recreation Centre
Municipal recreation centre on Bee Street with a 25-metre pool, ice arena, fitness centre, indoor tennis bubbles and an indoor field.
Known for a rope swing over the main pool
Our take
The rec centre opened on October 24, 1975, and marked its 50th in 2025 with 1975 admission prices and seventies-themed swims and skates. The main pool has a climbing wall, waterslides and a rope swing that comes out during Everyone Welcome swims. Upstairs, the Sports View Lounge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner overlooking the pool, the field and the arena. Seven indoor tennis courts sit under two bubbles out back.
Local tipThe lot fills up and street parking is two hours. If the hot tub is the point of your visit, call ahead.
