Oak Bay Municipal Hall

District of Oak Bay offices on Oak Bay Avenue for property taxes, permits, business and dog licences, and council business.

Known for a 1957 mid-century building with the town archives downstairs

Our take

Most people come here for a permit or a council meeting. Look up on the way in. The hall dates from 1957 and is one of the few non-residential mid-century buildings in Victoria that is still largely original, hexagonal planter and all. Downstairs, the Oak Bay Archives keep old photos, family albums and municipal records, and anyone can drop in.

Local tipArchives drop-in is Tuesdays from 10 to 1. The step-free entrance is beside Fairway Market.
