Our take
Asbestos closed the branch in early 2023, and for three months a pop-up ran in the Cedar Room at Monterey Recreation Centre. It reopened that June. Kids head for the cottage playhouse and the robot toys. Grown-ups should check the Fastreads shelf, where popular books go out with no holds, and find the stained-glass panel with a line attributed to Plato.
Local tipTwo-hour street parking nearby is free. There are no study rooms here, and the public computers shut down 15 minutes before closing.
