Our take
GARDENWORKS opened on the Avenue in 1988, in an old house that had been a lumber store and then a produce store. Over the years it sprouted add-ons until Oak Bay News called it a rabbit warren. In 2021 the lease ran out and it moved down the street into the former VI Fitness gym, which made room for a bigger tropicals section and a Botanical Bar where the arrangements change every week.
