| | | Small store support | Many members of the Oak Bay community were wanting to know if there was interest in reviving a small local grocery store, which closed down permanently after its owner passed away recently. Some in the community said that they are able to get what they need by shopping at the big chain stores, like Costco or Amazon and other grocery chains. | Others did express that there was actually a lot of interest in reviving this store, and Oak Bay locals especially appreciated having local produce, bread and other quality products that are easier to get to in the community. Several commenters stated that there has been tremendous support for this store in the past, as well as to the several family owners and operators who have been there over the years.
