| | PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT | To join the conversation, become a member of the Oak Bay Local Facebook Group | Growling and rumbling | An Oak Bay local reached out to the group, concerned about some loud noises in the community. Though the growl can definitely be heard across the community, locals were informed that it actually comes from an airfield that is 48 kilometres away! Itβs all open water, and when the F-18s take off to the east their engines are pointing directly towards Oak Bay. | Some have gotten used to the sound after yearsβand in some cases decadesβof hearing the rumble, which to some fades into the background. Others were concerned and seeking advice from neighbours on whether there is a larger group of people who are bothered by it. Have you heard the rumble? | |
