Five unlocked cars were entered in one week
Lock the doors; police are also stepping up evening patrols in Estevan.

Five vehicles were entered overnight in South Oak Bay between Aug. 17 and 23. Police say most were unlocked. Cash, wallets, keys, cards and backpacks were taken; several other cars were entered but had nothing worth stealing.
The same weekly release describes a separate problem in Estevan Village. Police are investigating alleged assaultive behaviour among youths on Aug. 22 and say residents and businesses have also reported evening noise, vehicle stunting, mischief and property damage.
No injuries were reported in the Aug. 22 incident. Police say directed and foot patrols are continuing, while residents are being reminded that locked doors and empty seats are the simplest protection against opportunistic theft.
