House of Savoy

Consignment clothing shop for women and men, opened in 1978, also carrying formal wear such as gowns and tuxedos.

Known for prom gowns, tuxedos and the shop's original 1978 pink rotary phone

Our take

It opened in 1978 as Encore, a women's consignment shop. Two years later a bookkeeper named Marian Savoy bought it, added menswear and put her name on the door. Women have owned it ever since, and Émilie Hamel runs it now. Formal wear is the draw: gowns, tuxedos, bow ties and a big bridal rack. The August backyard sale raised $8,000 for the Indian Residential School Survivors Society in 2025.

Local tipTo consign, walk in Tuesday to Friday, 10 to 4. No appointment needed. You get 40 per cent in cash or 50 in store credit.
