In 2024, the Monterey Avenue library placed second in checkouts across the GVPL and the circulation of physical materials among the GVPL’s 12 branches behind Saanich’s Nellie McClung Library. CHEK provided a detailed look at this strange phenomenon in the sky this week, noticed by several in Oak Bay and the Greater Victoria area. According to the US-based NOAA, fallstreak clouds appear when the high-level clouds that are made of supercooled liquid water droplets are disturbed, causing them to crystalize and fall, leaving holes in the sky.
